Old Abandoned Quarry, near State Route 2,east of Amherst, OH |
Quarry ledge of a small abandoned quarry near the Nichols quarry. The Nichols quarry (also referred to as the "Old East Quarry") is best recognized today for the American flag that is painted on it and viewable from State Route 2. This abandoned quarry is just a short walk away from State Route 2. Notice the metal handrail that still remains from an old ladder used by workers to reach the quarry bottom.
