This derrick from the Mori Quarry can be seen
from the Ohio Turnpike (between the St. Route
58 and Baumhart Road exits). This quarry is
rumored to have been built around 1950 to
cause the Ohio Turnpike to be built further
north of the Quarry's property.

Named for P.A. Mori, a longtime Cleveland
Quarries executive, the Mori quarry is very
shallow in depth.

Only one derrick, the one seen here, served
the Mori Quarry. This quarry is no longer being
actively quarried.
