More About the Sherburn Quarry
Between 1889 and 1892 this property exchanged hands amongst the LM Sherburn family. In 1892 the
site was transfered to Lee Burt Jr. who in turn sold the property to the Detroit Union Stone
Company. The Kipton Stone Company was incorporated in 1894 and a 1896 Henrietta Township map
also listed the owner as the Kipton Stone Company. We are currently researching how the property
transfered from the Detroit Union Stone Company to the Kipton Stone Company.
