For many years South Amherst (Ohio) could boast that it was the home to the 'world's largest sandstone quarries." This vanity license plate (date unknown) depicted this fact. The "Buckeye Quarry" (located north of State Route 113 and west of Quarry Road) was 240 feet deep, 600 feet wide, and 1800 feet long.
